Role Overview:

As DevOps Team Lead, you will manage the team’s expansion and optimization of our infrastructure to meet the escalating demands of our rapidly growing customer base.

Your role will be pivotal in scaling, monitoring, and automating deployments across our tech stack, ensuring high availability, low latency, and robust security measures. Leading the DevOps team at this pivotal moment offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of MagmaDevs’s expansion, instrumental in the company's dynamic growth and evolution.

Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Scaling: Architect and scale our existing Google Cloud Kubernetes cluster and services across managed and on-prem servers to accommodate our customers' increasing demands.
• Automation and Deployment: Drive the development and implementation of automated deployment strategies to streamline and enhance our deployment pipelines for greater efficiency.
• Monitoring and Alerting: Establish robust monitoring systems to track service health, performance, and security. Implement proactive alert mechanisms for rapid issue resolution, supporting 99.9% uptime.
• Security and High Availability: Collaborate on implementing stringent security measures. Ensure high availability and uptime across all services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions that boost productivity department-wide.

Requirements:

• Cloud Infrastructure Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, and managing both managed and on-prem servers.
• DevOps Proficiency: Strong tooling, scripting, automation, and configuration management skills. Experience with GitHub actions CI/CD is preferred.
• Scalability Focus: Proven ability to architect and scale infrastructure to meet increasing demands. Independent and proactive approach to handling tasks, with a strong drive to lead the team to new heights.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Blockchain Understanding: Familiarity with blockchain concepts or experience managing blockchain-related infrastructure is advantageous. Passion for new technologies, continuous learning, and open-source.
• Top-notch team Player: Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of engineering management experience, demonstrating leadership and team development skills
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in an active DevOps role, with a proven track record of implementing and optimizing DevOps practices
• Extensive experience with major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP), including architecture design and implementation
• Minimum of 3 years of production-level experience with Kubernetes, including:
• Leveraging open-source solutions from the Kubernetes ecosystem
• Proficiency in Helm for package management
• Demonstrated expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages, with a focus on Go, Python, and Bash
• Advanced skills in monitoring and alerting systems, with specific emphasis on:
• Grafana for data visualization and dashboarding
• Prometheus for metrics collection and alerting Additional desirable skills:
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions)
• Knowledge of container security best practices and compliance standards
• Experience with database administration and optimization
