DevOps Manager

BMC is looking for a DevOps Engineering Manager with passion for innovation and technology!

In this role, you will manage a team of 10 developers, some of whom are managed remotely, as well as 10 DevOps engineers, both locally and remotely, which plays a critical role in the SaaS infrastructure development of our amazing workload automation product (Control-M) - a product that enables the worlds’ largest companies to automate their applications/services. You will be responsible for hiring great talent, mentoring new and junior employees, assign tasks and prioritize them, perform employee evaluation, and help our employees to develop their career in BMC.

Responsible for taking our product to the next level of working in SaaS, while developing the infrastructure for SaaS solutions using advanced technologies.

• Direct management of ~10 employees
• Employee hiring, coaching/mentoring, task management, employee evaluation, employee career development etc.
• Plan, design, and develop our SaaS infrastructure, operation engine and deployment strategy.
• Lead the CI/CD system redesign to build a new robust AWS & K8S based system accommodating large number of CI/CD processes.
• Provide creative technical skills to transform sophisticated backend servers to a SaaS solution
• Maintain the existing code and our SaaS solution includes troubleshooting and solving problems in production.
• Work on the next-generation technologies, products, and solutions for our new data platform.
• Collaborate with various interfaces, such as other development teams, QA, RnD, Support, Product Management, etc.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

• At least 3 years of experience in direct management of development teams.
• You have 5+ years’ experience in a DevOps role
• Experience in hiring employees, mentoring, task management etc.
• You have experience in SaaS architecture development in Cloud platform, preferably AWS
• You have experience in SaaS infrastructure as code Iac, preferably terraform
• You have knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, helm, and Jenkins.
• You have experience in automation processes, automation tools, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
• You are a problem-solver with an investigative mentality.
• You are a team player with good communication & collaboration skills.
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
