Position Overview
A Field Sales Representative is responsible for selling products or services directly to customers within a designated geographic area. This role involves traveling to meet clients, demonstrating product features, negotiating contracts, and building long-term relationships with customers. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, results-driven individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
Sales Generation
- Identify and target potential customers within the assigned territory.
- Generate leads and cold-call prospective clients.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and quotas.
Customer Engagement
- Conduct face-to-face meetings with clients to present and promote products or services.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products or services.
Product Demonstrations
- Provide detailed demonstrations of products to potential customers.
- Answer customer questions and address any concerns.
- Highlight the unique selling points and benefits of the products.
Negotiation and Closing
- Negotiate terms of sales agreements and contracts.
- Close sales deals and ensure the timely delivery of products or services.
- Handle objections and provide solutions to customers’ issues.
Market Research and Feedback
- Gather market intelligence and provide feedback to the sales and marketing teams.
- Monitor competitors’ activities and market trends.
- Identify new market opportunities and provide recommendations for product development.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and transactions.
- Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management.
- Update customer relationship management (CRM) systems with relevant information.
After-Sales Support
- Provide post-sale support to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Follow up with customers to ensure the resolution of any issues and to maintain ongoing relationships.
- Coordinate with the customer service team to address any problems or concerns.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Work closely with the sales team and other departments to achieve overall company goals.
- Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and team-building activities.
- Share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the sales process.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience: Proven experience in field sales or a similar role. Experience in the industry relevant to the company’s products or services is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
