Senior Back End & Data Engineer

We seek a highly skilled and passionate Senior Backend and Data Engineer with a passion for startups and a genuine interest in ML and Data to join our team at Forwrd.ai.

What you’ll do:

• Design, plan, and build all aspects of the platform’s data, ML pipelines, and backend components.
• Take leadership and pursue the best, state-of-the-art solutions within the dynamic requirements and timelines.
• Take E2E ownership of all aspects of the development cycle, from designing and implementation to fully owning production and measuring the impact and value of your deliveries on our customers.
• Mind quality and efficiency—invest time when needed to run better and faster.
• Focus on continuous growth and improvement while delivering value to our customers.

Who you are:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud technologies (on AWS or a cloud provider alike) - designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, distributed, data-driven production SaaS systems, with live customers.
• Proficient with server-side technologies (preferably Java, Python) in a distributed architecture (e.g. microservices) and working with relational / non-relational (like MongoDB) DBs.
• Experienced and have deep understanding in big / distributed data concepts and experience in related tech stacks (Open file format like Parquet, Athena or other distributed Query engine alike, Async data processing/pipelines, SQL and NoSQL databases, etc.).
• Experienced in building and designing ML/AI driven production infrastructures and pipelines - both runtime and training (predictive or other) – a big advantage.
• Experienced with software engineering best practices and keen for automation (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, CI/CD, etc.).
• Highly self-motivated – a problem solver, with a “get-things-done” approach.
• Team player with excellent communications skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and with sense of urgency
• Experienced with working in an agile, dynamic, fast-paced working environment.
