Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a background in a Big 5 accounting firm, preferably in the high-tech or startup sector. The role involves supporting the preparation of monthly financial reports, assisting companies with audit readiness, and working closely with our startup clients to ensure they meet compliance and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support startups in audit preparation and work directly with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate audit submissions.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy.
• Work with multiple startups to manage financial controls and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Help to maintain organized and clear financial records.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA qualification is a must.
• 2-4 years of experience in a Big 5 accounting firm, with a preference for those with experience in the tech or startup sectors.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and GAAP standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with startup founders and internal teams.
• Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
