Editor, Haaretz.com

The editor of Haaretz.com oversees the editorial direction of Haaretz's English-language website and app. This role requires a deep understanding of Israeli politics, society, and current events, as well as familiarity with U.S.-Israel relations and Diaspora Jewish communities, along with the ability to lead a fast-paced newsroom. The editor must have strong leadership skills, work well under pressure, and handle breaking news. Non-standard hours may be required due to news developments.

Key responsibilities:

·    Lead the Haaretz.com news desk and provide editorial guidance while ensuring editorial consistency and quality across all content.

·    Strategize and manage prioritization of coverage while analyzing traffic, trends and user data

·    Collaborate with teams across departments to optimize presentation and engagement

Requirements:

·    5-7 years in digital journalism with editorial experience.

·    Fluent in English and Hebrew

·    Proven leadership in newsroom operations, including breaking news

·    Strong editing, proofreading, and decision-making skills

·    Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team of editors and journalists

·    Office location: Tel Aviv
