Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Backend Python Developer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our Data Science team to analyze large-scale satellite imagery and bring advanced models into production. You will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure that supports our data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Data Science team to integrate machine learning models and other advanced analytics into production systems.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services to process large datasets (such as satellite imagery).
• Build APIs and data pipelines to ensure seamless communication between services and applications.
• Work extensively with AWS cloud services for scalable data processing and deployment.
• Utilize Docker for containerization and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment and updates.
• Ensure code quality, performance, and scalability while following best practices for software development.
• Implement security protocols and data protection measures for sensitive environmental data.
• Collaborate with other teams (front-end, DevOps, product management) to deliver robust solutions that meet project goals.
  
  

• At least 3 years experience as a Backend Python Developer
• Strong proficiency in Python programming.
• At lease 3 years of experience with backend development, including designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working with large datasets, especially in areas like image processing or geospatial data.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and containerization tools.
• Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data processing frameworks (e.g., Pandas, Dask, PySpark).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
  
  

• An eye for data analytics and building data products.
• Experience with GIS systems and analysis of geographic data or aerial imagery.
• Experience with full-stack development in Python, such as building Dash applications or similar frameworks.
• Ability to deliver rapid prototypes for experimental features or projects.
• Knowledge of environmental or water-related technologies is a plus.
