Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Fermentation operator is responsible for routine production activities according to production plan. He supports fermentation process development specialist at evaluation, modification, improvement and scaling up of customer/ Sigma fermentation process under different regulatory standards (ISO9001, Elite, ISO13485 and GMP)

AUTHORITY

• Bacteriological/ cell culture sterile work.
• Preparation of Bacteriological growth media and buffers.
• Carrying out a whole fermentation process starting with strain inoculation through fermentation stage and up to harvesting stage at large scale up to 4000L.
• Perform troubleshooting.
• Perform routine maintenance to equipment in use.
• In process control of the fermentation using microscopy, OD, UV, HPLC and SDS-PAGE.
• Documentation of manufacturing process.
• Administration of manufacturing costs through SAP system.
• Review and update production MMF’s and SOP’s.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/LANGUAGES

• Biotechnology engineer with backgound and knowledge with microbiology or other relevant educational field.
• Fluent English and Hebrew.

• Experience with production scale fermentors.
• Knowledge in microbiology and biotechnology.
• Strong interpersonal and communicational skills.
• Excellent technical sense.
• Operation of large volume fermetntors.
• Understanding principal operation and possibilities of core department equipment.

• Strong interpersonal and communicational skills.
• Learning capacity- able to learn fast the production processes and techniques.
• Excellent oral and written English skills.
