Procurement Manager

Role Overview:

The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies aligning with the company’s objectives.

This role includes managing the procurement of raw materials, packaging, services, and general supplies, maintaining effective supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Implement Procurement Policies:

1. Formulate and enforce the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
2. Create and maintain an annual work plan for the procurement department.

• Procurement:

1. Oversee the procurement of all materials and services.
2. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers domestically and internationally and lead the supplier qualification process.
3. Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
4. Establish and monitor an ongoing cost-saving mechanism.

• Supplier Management:

1. Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers.
2. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues, emphasizing quality assurance performance.
3. Conduct regular reviews and audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards.

• Order Management:

1. Manage the issuance, tracking, and control of purchase orders.
2. Monitor the status of orders, ensure timely delivery of goods, and ensure synchronization with the planning department and the production plan.
3. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate procurement and delivery of materials.
4. Report on procurement activities, including order status and supplier performance.

• Compliance and Reporting:

1. Ensure all purchase orders comply with company policies and procedures.
2. Provide feedback to relevant departments regarding procurement issues and improvements.
3. Maintain and update supplier and product databases, including certifications, commercial terms, and performance metrics.
4. Identify the need for alternative sourcing options for critical items to mitigate risks, cut costs, and ensure continuity of supply.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field - Must. (Master’s degree an advantage)
• Proven experience in a procurement role within an industrial - Must.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Proven experience in logistics management.
• Ability to analyse market trends and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
