Machine Learning Engineer

A high-tech company that developed one of the largest international content platforms in the world. The platform operates in the field of public advertising and user preference-based recommendation systems, collaborating with and advertising on leading global websites.

Responsibility

• Responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining highly scalable machine-learning infrastructures and tools, including CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and more.
• Holds end-to-end ownership: designs, develops, deploys, measures, and maintains the machine learning platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and efficient resource utilization.
• Identifies and evaluates new technologies to improve the performance, maintainability, and reliability of machine learning systems.
• Collaborates closely with both engineering and algorithm teams to enhance the platform and optimize performance.
• Optimizes machine learning systems for modern compute environments (e.g., distributed clusters, CPU, and GPU), continually seeking optimization opportunities.
• Builds and maintains tools for automation, deployment, monitoring, and operations.
• Troubleshoots issues across development, production, and test environments.
• Directly impacts how billions of people discover the internet.
• Tech stack: Java, Python, TensorFlow, Spark, Kafka, Cassandra, HDFS, vespa.ai, ElasticSearch, Airflow, BigQuery, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker, Git, and Jenkins.

Requirements:

• Proven experience developing large-scale systems, including filesystems, server architectures, distributed systems, SQL, and No-SQL databases. Experience with Spark and Airflow or other orchestration platforms is highly beneficial.
• 5 years of expertise in software engineering methods.
• Passion for ML engineering and platform development.
• Experience designing and supporting ML pipelines and models in production environments.
• Strong coding skills in Java and Python.
• Familiarity with TensorFlow is a significant advantage.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Holds a BSc in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven capability to work effectively and independently across multiple teams and organizational boundaries.
• Deep understanding of core computer science principles, including object-oriented design, data structures, systems programming, and multithreading programming.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present insights and ideas clearly. Excellent English skills required for collaborating with global teams.
