Position Overview:

We are seeking an innovative Camera - Machine Learning Engineer Lead to spearhead the development of privacy-preserving machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI algorithms for camera and photo features. This role requires a strong foundation in machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL), with hands-on experience in large language models (LLMs) and deploying production-quality ML solutions. As part of our R&D team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, drive algorithmic innovation, and lead the transition from prototypes to final products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ideate and develop privacy-preserving ML, DL, and generative AI algorithms for camera modules and photo features.
• Lead the development of algorithms focused on image and video enhancement, applying ML to improve camera performance.
• Design and fine-tune large language models (LLMs) and apply parameter-efficient techniques for LLM optimization.
• Take ML/DL algorithms from prototype stage through to final production-quality deployment in camera systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate algorithms into Samsung Electronics’ products.
• Drive innovation in areas like privacy, generative AI, and inference speed-up techniques, such as speculative decoding.
• Work with large-scale datasets and contribute to improving the efficiency and performance of the ML models.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in ML, DL, and camera technologies, and apply that knowledge to ongoing projects.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of industry experience building ML and DL-based software applications.
• Strong fundamentals in machine learning, deep learning, and privacy-preserving AI techniques.
• Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) and parameter-efficient fine-tuning of LLMs.
• Strong applied software methodology, process, and quality skills.
• Experience with camera systems, image processing, or video analysis.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal communication abilities.
• M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience working in a global technology environment or collaborating with international teams.
