Staff Software Engineer - Gen AI Safety

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to help us lead Intuit’s AI security and safety initiative and ensure the safe development and execution of our generative AI technology.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be leading a strong engineering team to develop ideas and products that safeguard Intuit's generative AI ecosystem. This includes working with LLMs working on Prompt Engineering strategies, developing and shipping real time security detectors.

Additionally, the work is in close collaboration with a team of Security researchers, a data science team, and product managers.

What you'll bring

• BS/MS in computer science/engineering or equivalent work experience
• At least 6 years of experience in software engineering and security.
• Expert knowledge and hands on experience in backend software development (Java and/or Python)
• Proven experience in owning/supporting a large scale high traffic cloud service (preferably AWS)
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate at all levels - from front line engineers and non-technical stakeholders, to senior leaders in engineering or at the executive level.
• Ability to drive velocity while partnering with data science and engineering teams across multiple time zones.
• (Strong +): Experience with AI technologies such as SageMaker, LangChain, LLMs, Prompt Engineering, DialogFlow
• (Strong +): Experience with developing large scale security products and features
  
  

• Lead development efforts to build software to safeguard our AI ecosystem.
• Provide technical leadership and be a role model and mentor to engineers.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the risks and potential dangers associated with the use of AI.
• Advocate for the highest standards for engineering design, implementation, and testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for the use of AI at Intuit, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
