Release Manager

Bright is a rapidly growing, top-tier venture-funded company, focusing on developer-centric application security for the enterprise. Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organised, technically savvy, and detail-oriented Release Manager to lead and coordinate the release lifecycle of our product. The Release Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and execution of software releases across multiple environments. You will collaborate with various cross-functional teams, including development, and product management, to ensure seamless and efficient releases that meet business and technical requirements.

About the product:

Bright’s product is the first of its kind to integrate DAST testing into unit tests, integrating into CI/CD pipelines, and various educational programs designed for developers to adapt an ‘early and often’ posture when it comes to testing for security vulnerabilities. With the Bright engine's stellar technical and business logic, minimal false positives, and developer-centric design, there is no need for manual validation of security findings, removing costly and time consuming human bottlenecks that cripple rapid releases and drain dev team’s limited security resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Release Planning: Develop and maintain a detailed release plan, ensuring alignment with project timelines, business objectives, and resource availability.
• Release Coordination: Coordinate all aspects of a release, including managing timelines, dependencies, risks, and communication between teams.
• Deployment Management: Work closely with engineering and operations teams to manage deployments across environments (development, staging, production) and ensure successful product launches.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for release-related communication, providing regular updates to key stakeholders on the status, progress, and risks of upcoming releases.
• Process Improvement: Continuously improve release management processes by identifying bottlenecks, implementing automation where possible, and adopting best practices.
• Change Management: Manage the impact of changes to the release schedule, scope, or deployment plan, ensuring minimal disruption to the business.
• Post-Release Activities: Conduct post-release reviews to capture lessons learned and ensure corrective actions are implemented for future releases.
• Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve any release-related issues in a timely manner, working with relevant teams to minimize downtime and ensure product quality.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in release management, project management, or a related field.
• Proven track record of managing complex software releases in an Agile environment.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), CI/CD pipelines, and release engineering processes.
• Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Git, Jira, and other release management tools.
• Quality Assurance experience is an advantage
• Communication:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across remote teams in English.
• Experience leading meetings, managing timelines, and providing status reports.
• Problem-Solving:
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple releases and competing priorities simultaneously.
