Principal Engineer

CodiumAI is an early stage startup, where we are building products for busy developers like you to move fast with confidence by generating meaningful tests suggested right inside the IDE. Our first product is a line of IDE extensions that uses AI and deep domain understanding to help developers create tests for their code. Our second product is an open source pull-request git agent that uses AI to drastically speed up and improve PR reviews!

What will you do?

• Design and develop the backends that power our products that involve LLM prompts, latency and throughput optimizations and the need to work in both SaaS and on-prem environments, while you will also be collaborating with product and frontend engineers to build a user experience that matters.
• End-to-end ownership of delivering our products from ideation to implementation, release and operations
• You strive to take a key role in influencing the success and growth of products.
• Lead engineering excellence efforts to drive the quality of our products and make our users delight in them
• Role model operational excellence by bringing tools, processes and mindsets that keep production instead of engineers up at night
• Our technologies: Python, NodeJS, LiteLLM, Uvicorn, FastAPI, OpenAI, GCP
  
  

• You are a versatile, passionate problem-solving developer with a track record of delivering working software in large scale SaaS environments
• At least ten years of hands-on experience building high-performing, internet scale SaaS products
• Solid expertise in Python, NodeJS or similar, modern backend languages
• Deep understanding of the architecture of SaaS applications running in AWS/GCP
• You bring an independent, entrepreneurial attitude and are excited about working in a fast-paced, uncertain, and big-vision environment.
  
  

• Experience with GenAI products — prompts, benchmarks, tooling and MLOps
• You’ve regularly solved DevOps challenges
• You’ve worked on building Dev Tools
