Job Description:

Activities include •Conducting requirements analysis and high-level design/modeling to convert customer needs into software solutions •Designing and specifying the overall software structure, core elements, and properties by analyzing the requirements, constraints, interfaces, and dependencies •Using programming, scripting, and/or database languages to write the software code •Planning and conducting automated software testing (using programming languages to write code for use in testing the application/software code), performing analysis of test results, and tracking/reporting risk levels during test execution.

The team is in charge of multiple in-restaurant solutions, including food ordering kiosks, POSs (cash registers), KDSs (app that shows order queue to the kitchen and allows the kitchen staff to let customers know their food is ready), CDS (TV that shows customers the status of their orders - preparing / ready), among others. The team handles both the frontend (React Native, React) and the backend (Python) for the above products, as well as multiple integrations with external software and hardware providers.

The Impact You Will Make:

• Taking features and breaking them down into smaller pieces/units of work, ensuring that each part aligns with the overall goal and objectives.
• Creating tickets in JIRA and specifying acceptance criteria, ensuring clear and concise communication of the requirements to the development team.
• Working with the design team to help define the user experience and user flow, bridging the gap between design and technical implementation.
• Estimating at a high level and estimating tickets during ticket refinement, providing realistic timelines to facilitate efficient planning.
• Working with product managers, designers, and other engineers to figure out what needs to be done to build a feature, plan it out, and then execute – sometimes individually, sometimes leading a small group of other frontend engineers. This role will be a lot of heads-down development, but it also requires good communication with others, wise translation of product requirements into features, and sometimes directing the work of others.

What you Bring to the Table:

• 5+ years of experience building highly-scalable interactive web applications
• 4+ years of React
• Growing/ mentoring junior engineers
• Expert knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 (experience using Typescript and SCSS is a plus)
• Demonstrated ability to use a modern web framework or library such as React Pattern of designing scalable and reusable components and features.
• Experience working in a test-driven development environment Track record of advocating for the adoption of strong software architecture, development of best practices, and new technologies.
• Experience being self-directed and responsible for deliverables Familiar with Agile methodologies, including breaking down large features and creating tickets with detailed acceptance criteria.
