How you’ll be impactful:

As a Devops Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the operational stability, security, and efficiency of our infrastructure. You will collaborate with software developers, system operators, and other IT staff members to manage code releases and deployments. You will also be involved in the automation of the system’s operational processes, as they move from a physical to a virtual or cloud-based infrastructure. Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in our dev, test, and production environments are key aspects of your role. Your goal is to build scalable and reliable systems that support our software development and business objectives, while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Your mission:

• You own our infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services
• You manage and maintain Heroku applications, including deployments, scaling, and monitoring
• You help others to run their software. Your monitoring systems will proactively detect issues before customers are affected, and your automated alerts will enable quick resolution of root causes by the application teams.
• Maintain, optimize and monitor our Gitlab & Heroku CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable software delivery. You set the standards used company wide and you will help other Engineers on how to automate their application deployment
• Support our engineers with operation topics and provide them guidance on best practices for modern cloud infrastructure
• You will help us with architecture discussions, technology selection and planning of changes to the system landscape

Who you should be:

• Longtime experience in hands-on positions and enjoy, besides coding, to support others and help them grow
• Experience working with IaaS (GCP, AWS) and PaaS (Heroku), as well as infrastructure tools like Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes
• Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services
• You are transparent about your work, in the form of demos, presentations and reporting to a variety of internal stakeholders
• Great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, share knowledge and enable others
• Comfortable to work both independently and as a team member
