Director of Engineering

A promising young fintech startup is developing a tool designed for financial management in large corporations.

Having just completed a successful funding round, the company is working on a solution tailored for CFOs in large companies, providing them with a comprehensive cash flow overview. Their technology aggregates data from various sources (ERP, banks, etc.) to create accurate cash flow forecasts.

With around 15 employees, the company already has clients and an active product.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the R&D strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
• Drive innovation by identifying new technologies, trends, and opportunities for product development.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the R&D team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Oversee all R&D projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Identify talent needs, recruit, and hire top talent to build a strong R&D team, ensuring the right skills and expertise are in place.
• Provide regular updates to the executive team and board of directors on R&D progress, challenges, and achievements.

Requirements-

• 10 years of experience in R&D, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, where you managed teams and drove strategic initiatives.
• Proven leadership, communication, collaboration and team management skills.
• Excellent strategic thinking and cross-functional problem-solving and prioritization abilities.
• Track record of successful product development and innovation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to individually troubleshoot complex data issues and implement effective solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with tools and frameworks for orchestrating Analytical Pipelines (Airflow, DBT).
• Experience with cloud-based data storage and computing platforms (Google Cloud Platform).
