The MIND Lab is Looking for New Grad Students

The MIND Lab (Minds Interacting N’ Developing Lab) is looking for grad students for a new ISF-funded project seeking to investigate real-time parental mentalizing through the lens of event segmentation. The lab is directed by Dr. Tal Yatziv and is located at the Department of Psychology, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. This interdisciplinary project will incorporate a novel adaptation of naturalistic cognition methods to caregiving contexts with observations of parent-infant relationships and infant socio-emotional functioning.

Candidates interested in parenting/caregiving, mentalizing, naturalistic cognition, social cognition, and infant socio-emotional development, are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates are required to have:

·        A Master’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, or related fields

·        Basic programming skills and strong statistical skills, preferably in R or Python

·        Strong management, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Having background and research experience in developmental psychology and/or cognitive psychology/neuroscience and fluency in English will be considered advantages.

המעבדה לקרבה (קוגניציה ורגש בהורות והתפתחות, Minds Interacting N’ Developing Lab) במחלקה לפסיכולוגיה באוניברסיטת בן-גוריון, בהובלתה של ד"ר טל יציב, מחפשת סטודנטים.ות לתארים מתקדמים  להובלת פרויקט מחקר במימון ה-ISF על מנטליזציה הורית בזמן אמת כתהליך סגמנטציה למאורעות (event segmentation). בפרויקט רב-תחומי זה, נשלב בין מדד חדש המהווה אדפטציה למתודות מעולם הקוגניציה הנטורליסטית לתחום ההורות, יחד עם תצפית על יחסי הורה-תינוק והתפתחות רגשית-חברתית של התינוק.

אנו מעודדות מועמדים.ות המתעניינים במחקר על הורות וטיפול בילדים, מנטליזציה, קוגניציה מנקודת מבט אקולוגית, קוגניציה חברתית, והתפתחות חברתית-רגשית בינקות להגיש מועמדות. על המועמד.ת להיות בעל.ת:

·        תואר שני בפסיכולוגיה, מדעי המוח והקוגניציה, או תחום קשור

·        כישורי תכנות בסיסיים ורקע חזק בסטטיסטיקה, בעדיפות עם R או פייתון

·        כישורי ארגון, ניהול, ויחסים בין-אישיים חזקים

רקע וניסיון מחקרי בפסיכולוגיה התפתחותית ו/או בפסיכולוגיה קוגניטיבית/מדעי העצב הקוגניטיביים ואנגלית שוטפת יחשבו כיתרון משמעותי.
