Overall purpose of role

We are seeking an experienced and talented individual to join our team as the Head of Legal and Compliance. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and oversee all legal and compliance activities within the Israeli branch. Reporting into EMEA Head of Markets Compliance, the Head of Legal and Compliance will focus on ensuring that the Israeli branch meets all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, as well as acting as trusted advisor to Stakeholders for any Legal matters.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage Compliance and Legal Risks related to Barclays activities in Israel;
• Provide advice on legal and compliance topics to business and functions stakeholders;
• Help develop processes and controls to ensure adherence to appliable regulatory requirements;
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations and evaluate the impact on the organization;
• Provide regulatory guidance to relevant stakeholders and ensure alignment with compliance policies and standards;
• Conduct ongoing monitoring to address compliance risk;
• Perform local MLRO role and address financial crime matters and concerns;
• Experience in interacting with local regulators;
• Provide guidance on labour law matters, HR policies and related dispute resolution.

What are we looking for?

• Qualified lawyer/solicitor with excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school.
• At least 8 years of experience as a lawyer at a reputable law firm or as in-house counsel with relevant experience in the financial industry
• Strong verbal and written communication and influencing skills (Hebrew and English)
• Previous work experience in matrixed global organizations is an advantage.
