Data Science Engineering Manager

A global startup in the Trust & Safety sector has developed an AI-based SaaS product with advanced models aimed at cleaning the internet of harmful content. system operates in real-time with low latency to detect and act against harmful online activities, thereby preventing damage to users and organizations.

The company is located in central Israel, near a train station, and operates in a hybrid model with 3-4 work-from-home days per week. It is funded with over $100M and has more than 300 employees.

The role reports to the VP of Data and includes the following responsibilities:

• Managing a team of 12 employees and two team leads.
• Overseeing an Engineering team that focuses primarily on bringing models to production and handling engineering tasks.
• Leading a Data Science team that works across various domains (NLP, Tabular, LLM, Vision, Transformers) using both classical and AI/DL methods.
• Operating in a large-scale Big Data environment with AWS, Microservices, and Airflow.
• Emphasizing managerial duties, including bridging the gap between Data Science and Development, leading cross-functional projects, and integrating these components into the product.
• Providing professional guidance to teams, mentoring managers, planning the lifecycle of models from development to deployment, and managing daily team tasks, methodologies, and work processes.

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience in managing Backend software development and Data Science teams, with at least 3 years of experience leading 2 or more teams- A must
• Strong expertise in Machine Learning (ML) - A must
• Extensive experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI)- A must
• Proficiency in Backend development using Python A must
• Hands-on experience with Cloud environments and large-scale systems A must
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (BSc) A must
• Background in Cybersecurity is required A must
