We are poised for significant growth and seek a seasoned Vice President of Sales to lead our sales strategy and execution.
Position Overview
The Vice President of Sales will play a crucial role in driving the company’s revenue growth by building and scaling a high-performance sales organization from the ground up.
This role requires a hands-on leader with proven experience in closing initial deals, developing sales strategies, and achieving multi-million dollar Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR).
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy and Execution:
• Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue
growth and market penetration.
• Identify and prioritize target markets and customer segments.
• Create and execute go-to-market plans for new products and services.
2. Building the Sales Organization:
• Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
• Establish scalable sales processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Set performance metrics and manage the team to achieve and exceed sales
targets.
3. Hands-On Deal Closure:
• Personally lead and close the first critical deals to establish market presence
and credibility.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry
stakeholders.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings.
4. Market and Customer Insights:
• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
• Gather customer feedback to inform product development and positioning.
• Collaborate with the product and marketing teams to ensure alignment with
customer needs and market demands.
5. Travel Requirements:
• Willingness to travel 30%-60% of the time for customer meetings, industry events, and team coordination.
Qualifications
• Proven experience building and scaling sales organizations in a B2B startup
environment, from inception to multi-million dollar ARR.
• Demonstrated success in closing high-value deals and establishing market presence.
• Strong understanding of the climate and energy sectors, with a preference for
experience in GHG emissions management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
