PCB layout engineer

What You Will Do in This Role

Reporting to the POE Design Services Team Leader, you will be a key member of the Development team, collaborating closely with all R&D groups, including IC, System, Application, and Testing teams.

Your main responsibilities will include managing all aspects of PCB layout design and maintaining the footprints library. You will:

• Assist application engineers with PCB layout design using CAD tools.
• Adhere to internal procedures for developing evaluation and reference boards.
• Generate Gerber files and production files for each layout or re-layout activity.
• Help create technical documentation and provide necessary design files.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a unified Footprint Library in accordance with JEDEC standards.
• Design all PoE boards within the BU.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability.
• Prepare production files and coordinate with production teams.
• Support technical inquiries from the Customer App team, PCB production, and assembly teams.

Qualifications and Experience:

• At least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Allegro/ORCAD PCB Cadence (version 17.4 and above) is required.
• Extensive experience in all steps of PCB layout.
• Skilled in building footprints according to standards and datasheets.
• Experience with manual and automatic PCB layout, constraints definition, stack-up, and controlled impedance.
• Ability to work with mechanical drawings for PCB definition.
• Experience preparing production files for PCB manufacturing and assembly houses.
• Ability to support subcontractors involved in PCB production and assembly.
• Experience with simulations such as thermal, resistance, and ESD is an advantage.
• Experience in power, analog, and digital design is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with AGILE Oracle PLM is an advantage.
