Senior Applied Scientist Security - CTO office of Microsoft Security

We are looking for a hands-on Applied scientist, with deep and practical AI knowledge, to join the CTO office of Microsoft Security. This team has the responsibility for ensuring Microsoft delivers the market-leading security technologies in all markets we choose to serve. Responsibilities

• Lead an ongoing exploration, evaluation and adoption of technologies and tactical capabilities; work closely with stakeholders to identify and maximize opportunities for technology use to improve business outcomes and translate that into an achievable action plan.
• Conduct rigorous experiments and analysis to evaluate the performance of chosen models, identify areas for improvement, and iterate on existing solutions. 
• Investigate new technologies and design new approaches of AI-based systems to address cybersecurity challenges and validate their effectiveness using a data-driven approach.
• Lead end-to-end design, and implementation of planned POCs. 
• Provide technical leadership.
  
  

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in computer science, software engineering, or a related field with a focus on machine learning, information retrieval, or recommender systems.  
• 5+ years of experience in developing and deploying ML models and LLMs in real-world applications.  
• Deep and practical AI knowledge, including LLMs.
• Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the cybersecurity domain (offensive security is a bonus).
• Experience working with cloud services (Microsoft Azure is a bonus).
• Experience/familiarity with Knowledge Graphs.
• Experience/familiarity with Graph data structure and algorithms.
