Software Team Lead- Edge Team

About the position

As the Edge Team Lead, you will oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of our virtual appliances deployed on customer sites. You will lead a geographically distributed team, manage projects, and ensure the successful execution of our technical solutions. Your role will include strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on technical contributions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a distributed engineering team in Israel and Ukraine, fostering collaboration, team development, and growth
• Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of virtual appliance projects, ensuring alignment with goals and timelines.
• Provide technical expertise in developing and optimizing virtual appliances, ensuring high standards and best practices.
• Develop and implement infrastructure strategies to support high traffic and diverse customer needs.
• Oversee the monitoring of virtual appliance performance and lead efforts to resolve issues and enhance system efficiency.
• Collaborate with the field team to understand needs, provide support, and ensure seamless integration.

Who are you?

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role, preferably in a geographically distributed team environment.
• Experience in at least 2 development languages. (Goֿ/ Scala preferred)
• Extensive experience with microservice architectures in cloud-native environments.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and Helm charts for container orchestration.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux systems and administration vmware
• Proficiency with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration with virtual appliances.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a distributed team effectively, with experience in handling cross-cultural communication and coordination.
• Highly dynamic, self-motivated, and quickly adapting to new information and technologies.

Preferred (but not mandatory) experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent military experience.
• Experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or senior technical roles.
• Knowledge of Linux networking tools such as iptables and tcpdump.
• Familiarity with GitOps tools like Argo or Flux for continuous delivery.
