Senior Backend Developer (Java)

Vicarius is an Israeli-born cybersecurity startup backed by tier-1 investors from San Francisco, Portugal and Tel Aviv. Currently operating out of NYC and Tel Aviv, Vicarius is set to solve the biggest challenge of all: security vulnerabilities. The Vicarius powered platform, vRx, is a simple and self-serve product that helps companies identify, prioritize and fix security threats in an integrated, automated, and non-traditional manner.

After successfully closing our Series B funding round, we are looking for a Senior Backend Developer (Java) to join our team! As a Senior Backend developer, you’ll be the brain behind crafting, developing, testing, going live, and maintaining our vRx platform. You are passionate about understanding the business context for features built to drive better customer experience and adoption.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, debug and test the platform API over AWS infrastructure.
• Design new components in the system with a focus on high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Create, test, manage, and peer review code as each developer is required to fulfill multiple roles.
• Work in a small team environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of server-side development experience.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Deep knowledge in Java and Spring Framework.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services technologies (SQS, S3, EBS etc.)
• Linux bash scripting and installation of open source platforms (CentOS, Amazon Linux).
• Knowledge in relational and a-relational databases (MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch etc.).
• Knowledge in continuous integration (CI/CD) platforms (Jenkins).
• Experience troubleshooting of Apache Tomcat applications.
• Experience troubleshooting of real-time server-side application and multicomponent platforms.

• We are a small company. A successful candidate will have a desire to work as part of a small, growing team.
• Ability to study new technologies fast and think outside of the box.
• Ability to work in a team, communicate clearly, adapt, learn quickly, and pay attention to detail.
• BSc in Computer Science (or if you know how to do the above).
