Automation Engineer

Startup Company in the Fintech sector that has developed and operates an AI-based automated platform for VAT refunds. The platform integrates with the client's existing expense management system, analyzes the refundable VAT, and automatically submits the refund request to the relevant tax authority. According to the company, this eliminates the manual process of filing VAT refund claims.

Last year, they also launched a solution designed for small and medium-sized businesses. The company has over 180 clients.

Located in central Israel (near a train line), they offer one remote workday per week. The company has 70 employees worldwide, with 20 based in Israel.

Role Description:

As the sole Automation Engineer in the company, you will be part of the development team. You can choose the programming language. Your responsibilities will include building automation infrastructures from scratch and transitioning all manual processes in the company to automation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for SPA, GraphQL, and REST API testing.
• Design and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure software quality and compliance with specifications.
• Identify, record, document, and track bugs, as well as perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Collaborate with the Product, R&D, and Operations teams to understand requirements and ensure thorough testing coverage.
• Continuously improve test automation frameworks and strategies to increase test efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide detailed and accurate test reports, and communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in QA and automation testing.
• Strong proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
• Experience with testing Single Page Applications (SPA) and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks.
• Proficiency in testing GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
