Technical Writer

NewPhotonics is disrupting data center processing with novel photonic engines solving the power and performance challenges. We are looking for a part-time Technical Writer /freelancer who is passionate about working in a collaborative and innovative environment. The candidate should be a dynamic individual who has demonstrated success in both technical content creation and project management.

The successful candidate for this position has a track record of strength and aptitude relevant to the following areas:

• Create clear, effective, user-focused technical documentation for highly technical audiences.
• Manage multiple projects through shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Understand and promote usability and product goals.
• Create standard documentation templates advancing NewPhotonics datasheets, application notes and supporting product collateral.
• Promote cross-team collaboration and engagement among engineering subject matter experts, marketing, and technical support staff.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of writing technical documentation, including supporting a major silicon and software product or product suite.
• BA in Technical Communication or a technical field (Engineering, Computer Science).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other tools for automating document generation.
• Excellent writing, copyediting and communication skills.
• Ability to digest raw internal technical data and specifications and clearly organize and convey information in a highly polished and efficient format.
• Familiar with HTML, CSS, Markdown, and other web technologies for online documentation.
• Ability to deliver accurate results with attention to details and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• English - mother tongue level
