Position: Senior Bioinformatics Scientist, Omics Team

As a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist on our Omics Team at Pheno.AI, you will manage and analyze large-scale omics datasets, playing a critical role in our research and development efforts. Your responsibilities will include conducting literature reviews, gaining domain expertise, developing and maintaining data processing pipelines, ensuring quality control, and investigating associations within our diverse datasets. You will be at the heart of our data-driven research, take part in establishing existing as well as new and innovative computational workflows for omics data analysis, helping to bridge the gap between raw data and actionable biological insights. The role specifically involves working with various omics data types, such as human genetics, transcriptomics, microbiome, proteomics, MS/MS, and immunoassays.

• Data Ownership: Ensure that the processing and management of omics data are conducted with the highest standards, utilizing state-of-the-art techniques.
• Research Leadership: Lead research efforts related to omics data, including human genetics, transcriptomics, and microbiome studies.
• Point of Contact: Serve as the primary expert and contact for all matters related to omics data, providing support to both internal teams and external collaborators.
• Data Assurance: Oversee the data lifecycle, from its creation in the clinic or lab to its integration into research projects, ensuring data quality and relevance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with academic institutions and commercial partners to advance our research and development objectives.

• Educational Background:
• Ph.D. in bioinformatics or a related field with expertise in omics (e.g., human genetics, transcriptomics, microbiome, proteomics, MS/MS, scRNA) and at least 2 years of commercial experience in engineering, data science or bioinformatics
• Alternatively, an MSc in Computer Science or an equivalent computational field with 5 years of experience in data science / bioinformatics, including at least 2 years of experience with healthcare-related or omics data.
• Experience in Analyzing Omics or Healthcare Data: Demonstrated ability to work with complex biological or clinical datasets, applying rigorous analytical techniques to extract meaningful insights.
• Programming Proficiency: Strong coding skills in Python, with deep familiarity with data science libraries and tools such as Pandas, NumPy, and SciPy.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex problems and effectively communicate findings to a multidisciplinary audience.
• Passion for Healthcare and Data: A strong commitment to advancing the field of healthcare through data-driven research and innovation.

• Cloud Computing Experience: Proficiency in cloud-based platforms, particularly AWS, to manage and scale data analysis processes.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning: Experience in applying machine learning techniques to biological or healthcare data.
• Project Management Experience: A history of successfully managing complex research projects, ensuring timely delivery of results while maintaining high standards of quality.
