Casual Friday LTD is seeking a talented Tech Artist to join our team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between art and code in our 2D hybrid pipeline, ensuring smooth technical integration of visual assets into Unity. You’ll collaborate closely with art, development, and design teams to help create polished, performant, and visually engaging mobile game experiences.

Responsibilities

Unity Integration & Implementation

Integrate 2D assets into Unity with a focus on the Unity UI system and hybrid 2D workflows.
Set up prefabs, materials, animations, and particle systems for in-game use.
Ensure seamless compatibility across multiple resolutions, devices, and performance constraints.

Technical Development & Tools

Develop and maintain custom shaders, materials, and VFX to enhance 2D visuals.
Create tools, scripts, and editor extensions to streamline the 2D art pipeline.

Optimization & Performance

Conduct performance profiling and asset optimization to ensure high framerate and low memory usage on mobile devices.
Collaborate with developers to identify and resolve technical bottlenecks.

Collaboration & Support

Work closely with the art team to translate creative concepts into technically feasible assets.
Support the Unity development team with debugging and hybrid pipeline implementation.
Contribute to establishing and documenting best practices for 2D technical art production.

Requirements:

3+ years of experience as a Tech Artist (or similar) in game development, with a focus on 2D pipelines.
Strong knowledge of Unity UI, particle systems, and animation workflows.
Experience with shader graph or writing custom shaders for 2D rendering.
Solid understanding of optimization for mobile (draw calls, batching, texture compression).
Experience creating pipeline tools in C# is an advantage.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
Passion for vibrant, cartoon-style mobile games is a big plus.
