R&D Manager

Job Description

• Lead the Research and Development team within Corporate Engineering and drive technology, innovation and growth
• Develop and execute a long-term technology strategy that follows market trends
• Collaborate with other departments to drive business growth
• Lead the development and launch of new products on the Wix platform and frameworks
• Manage a continuous integration and deployment process following the Wix DevEx style
• Build and manage a remote team of developers, DevOps engineers, and PS engineers
• Develop and monitor research plans for R&D projects
• Direct the Research and Development program, from new product proposals all the way to commercialization
• Define resource allocation, implement tools and policies, and evaluate performance
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• At least 15 years of experience in the tech industry
• Proven track record of success in leading large-scale projects and teams
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities
• Technical expertise in multiple programming languages and GenAI
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment or similar setting
• Strong hands-on coding skills and experience with microservices development
• Familiarity with agile methodologies like Scrum and (A)TDD
• Strong understanding of business processes and team building

We use cutting-edge technologies such as OPA, Terraform, Kubernetes, Istio, and Argo to solve complex problems related to distributed systems. We’re responsible for shaping the architecture of our backend microservices with a focus on complexity and security.
