Senior Director of Development

JDC seeks a Senior Director of Development to join Global Resource Development team

The Senior Director of Development (SDD) will direct efforts to integrate and harmonize resource development activities across JDC. The SDD will join the Global Resource Development team and supervise a team, as well as actively engage and steward a select group of individual and foundation donors. The SDD will hold a publicly-facing senior role, handle responsibilities across the department and lead complex senior tasks, projects and campaigns.

Reporting to JDC’s Interim Chief Advancement Officer (CAO), Global Resource Development, the Senior Director of Development will be a dynamic and inspiring leader with demonstrated success working with board members, and growing philanthropic relationships globally.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

· Lead efforts to integrate and harmonize fundraising efforts across the organization;

· Lead a team of SDOs based in US, Israel and Europe to identify fundraising targets, manage and strengthen performance, provide support and guidance and ensure success;

· Lead cross cutting and complex fundraising and/or departmental projects, initiatives, tasks, campaigns;

· Serve as a full member of the RD Senior Management Team to help develop strategy and policies that strengthen the Resource Development operation;

· Lead and supervise the writing team in Jerusalem.

Fundraising:

· Steward and solicit a select group of major donors for new, renewed or increased major ($10k - $1M) priority and budget approved gifts, and other related projects;

· Plan and organize speaking events and parlor meetings and staff overseas donor visits to achieve these goals;

· Coordinate special projects and donor cultivation assignments;

· Present on JDC’s behalf to funders/prospects and other groups in person and via other technologies;

· Work with the Resource Development team to develop necessary materials;

· Record all major contacts/activities with donors and prospects according to JDC procedures;

· Work closely with the CAO to ensure alignment at all levels, including identification of donors, outreach and solicitation, identifying funding needs, communication and messaging;

Other Duties

As a nonprofit, JDC is focused on allocating resources in the most effective manner and aims to run a lean operation. At times employees may be asked to wear multiple hats or take on additional duties to fill the needs of the organization or their department.
