Gentex is a global leader in high-tech electronic and electro-optics products for the automotive, aerospace, and commercial fire protection markets.

Gentex Technologies Israel – GTI, is the Israeli R&D center of Gentex, located in Tel-Aviv. We are focused on developing the next generation of automotive AI technology and Electro-Optics sensors for in-cabin and driver monitoring applications. GTI is Gentex’s AI and Structured-Light center-of-excellence. Our AI vision algorithms are integrated into Gentex products, run on embedded platforms and are an integral part of leading Car manufacturers around the world.

About the Position

Our In-Cabin R&D team is responsible for developing the building blocks and applications of our in-cabin product line roadmap using computer vision and deep learning technologies. The work includes developing new products in our in-cabin product line. The team leader will be working closely with our product teams and be tasked with researching, developing and demonstrating new products based on Machine Vision / Deep Learning.

This is a unique opportunity to develop new AI based products in the automative domain.

We are looking for talented and experience DL/CV Algorithm Team Leader to lead our In-Cabin R&D team.

In this position you will:

• Lead the development of state-of-the-art In-Cabin Sensing machine vision products based on Deep Learning CV algorithms.
• Create new algorithms based on requirements from our product lines or suggest your own ideas based on utilizing new technologies.
• Lead new algorithm development from concept, through requirements to a working POC and in‑car demonstrations and testing.
• Lead, guide and oversee a team of algorithm engineers (full/part time).
• Work closely with our product line managers as well as GTI’s other team leaders.
• Become a part of a global R&D operation and a dynamic local team.

What are we looking for?

• MsC in Computer Science\Electrical Engineering\ Mathematics or related fields. Ph.D. or Post-Doc is a strong advantage.
• At least 10 years of experience in machine vision algorithm development (classical and DL).
• At least 4 years of experience as a team leader.
• Strong mathematicall and research skills. Analytical thinking and problem solving orientation.
• Proficiency C\C++, Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch\Tensorflow\Keras etc) 
• Background in optics, 3D modelling (sensors, illumination, calibration, etc') or automotive products - a strong advantage.
• A problem solver and a team player.
• Fluent in English, work experience in a multi-national company – an advantage.
