Senior Chemist

Plastic Back is a clean tech startup in the plastic-to-oil sector. The company has developed a chemical process that converts post-consumed plastic waste into valuable products. The company’s mission is to enable a circular economy by creating value in waste.

The company is seeking an experienced chemist to join the company’s R&D efforts. The candidate will work closely with the lead chemist and at the company’s laboratories.

Responsibilities:

·      Hands-on qualitative and quantitative experiments on organic and inorganic chemical compounds

Performing daily laboratory tasks, including experimental and analytical activities.

·      Significant contribution to experiment design, process optimization and scale up

·      Technical reporting to governmental grants

·      Material and equipment procurement

·      Collaborative work with process and mechanical engineers

·      Practical laboratory work (including work with organic materials and solvents)

Requirements

·      Masters’ degree in chemistry and/or materials engineering. PhD a significant advantage

·      Knowledge of chemical oxidation and scale-up process

·      Experience in interpreting analytic data (GC, NMR,etc.)

·      Expertise in organic chemistry, polymers, and crude oil- an advantage

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Hebrew and English
