Principal Security Research Lead - Exposure Management

We are looking for an experienced security research manager to lead a growing team of extremely talented researchers. In this role, you will coach, mentor, and expand a team of world class security experts to deliver innovative security research and content which is shipped as part of the product. You will manage complex projects which require intimate familiarity with the security threat landscape and involve collaboration with partners across the Microsoft engineering and research teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of security researchers who constantly analyze new threats and push new innovative content and help protect hundreds of millions of users worldwide.
• Explore massive amounts of data to come up with new security posture insights which can then be translated into security recommendations for our customers.
• Work together with the different PM & engineering teams to develop the code to support the research findings.
• Collaborate with multiple product teams to design sensors and data collectors and validate their effectiveness using a data-driven approach.
• Work directly with senior leaders to come up with and advocate for cutting-edge ideas while securing necessary commitments and collaborations.
• Attract and cultivate future talents through various programs with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion.
  
  

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

• 3+ years of leading a security research team.
• 8+ years of cyber security research
• Proficiency in developing C# / Python
• Experience with delivering a feature end to end (research / coding, testing, maintenance)
• Excellent cross-group and interpersonal skills
• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant practical experience (e.g. service in elite technology unit in IDF)

• Offensive security research experience
• Network security research experience
• Industry recognized author of security research papers, blogs, or books
• Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science
