Production and Assembly Engineer for Electro-Mechanical Systems

Astroscale Israel is a subsidiary of Astroscale US. We develop groundbreaking technologies for attaching spacecraft to end-of-life satellites and enabling the extension of their orbital lifespans.

Astroscale Israel is developing a unique system for rendezvous and docking in space, including the development and production of mechanisms for space.

We are looking for a technician/engineer with experience and an understanding of the assembly and integration processes of electro-mechanical systems in aerospace.

Job responsibilities:

• Accompany engineering development and design processes and contribute to improving the producibility.
• Define manufacturing technologies (translate engineering requirements into production and assembly processes) and write routing sheets and work instructions
• Establish and lead electro-mechanical assembly and integration processes for systems
• Perform assembly, inspection, and testing of complex systems.
  
  

• Experience and understanding of the ability to support the engineering process (design feedback, configuration management, etc.)
• Proven experience defining manufacturing and assembly processes and supporting part manufacturers.
• Proven experience in the assembly and integration of electro-mechanical systems.
• Knowledge and experience in quality requirements and processes, including working according to Route cards and signing off on assembly stages.
• Ability to read and understand English drawings and documents.
• Graduate of a relevant course and certification in the Air Force or an aerospace and defense company - an advantage.
• Experience working in a high-cleanliness environment (clean room) - an advantage.
• Experience performing basic electrical assemblies (routing harnesses, connecting electrical plugs, etc.) - an advantage.
