Senior NLP Data Scientist

What is the position about?

We're looking for an experienced NLP Data Scientist to lead our natural language processing initiatives. You'll be at the forefront of developing and implementing advanced NLP models and algorithms to extract meaningful insights from large volumes of social media data, news articles, and other text sources.

What will be your impact at Hive?

• Design, develop, and implement state-of-the-art NLP models for tasks such as sentiment analysis, topic modeling, named entity recognition, and text classification.

• Lead the development of multilingual NLP solutions to support global social listening capabilities.

• Collaborate with the backend team to integrate NLP models into our production pipeline and ensure scalable, efficient processing of large text datasets.

• Develop innovative approaches for extracting trends, patterns, and insights from unstructured text data.

• Create and maintain NLP-focused data pipelines, from data collection and preprocessing to model deployment and monitoring.

• Stay current with the latest advancements in NLP research and incorporate new techniques into our solutions as appropriate.

Which qualifications and skills will drive your success in this role?

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field with a focus on NLP.

• 5+ years of professional experience in applying NLP techniques to real-world problems, preferably in social media analysis or related fields.

• Strong expertise in modern NLP techniques, including transformer-based models (e.g., BERT, GPT), and embedding models.

• Proficiency in Python and experience with NLP libraries such as NLTK, spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers, and TensorFlow or PyTorch.

• Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals and statistical analysis.

• Experience with multilingual NLP and low-resource languages (Hebrew, Arabic, Russian) - strong advantage.

• Experience working with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Docker - advantage.
