Solar Operational Manager

Job Summary: The Solar Operational Manager will oversee and manage all operational activities related to the company’s photovoltaic (PV) sites. This includes ensuring the smooth and efficient running of PV site operations, coordinating with subcontractors for operation and maintenance (O&M) activities, and implementing strategies to improve productivity and efficiency. The Operational Manager will also be responsible for managing a team of three employees, providing guidance and support, and ensuring that all operational goals and targets for the PV sites are met.

Key Responsibilities:

1. PV Site Operations:

• Oversee the operation and maintenance (O&M) of photovoltaic (PV) sites.
• Ensure optimal performance and efficiency of all PV systems.

1. Subcontractor Management:

• Manage subcontractors responsible for O&M activities on solar fields.
• Ensure subcontractors meet performance standards and comply with safety regulations.

1. Team Management:

• Lead and manage a team of three employees, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment.

1. Process Optimization:

• Analyze current operational processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Implement strategies to optimize productivity and efficiency.

1. Budget Management:

• Manage the operational budget for PV site activities, ensuring cost-effective operations.
• Monitor performance metrics and implement strategies to optimize financial performance.

1. Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and regulations.

1. Project Management:

• Oversee the planning and execution of projects related to PV sites, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure alignment with company goals.

1. Procurement:

• Oversee procurement activities for PV site operations.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.

1. Business Experience:

• Utilize strong business acumen to drive operational efficiency and profitability.
• Lead negotiations and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.

1. Contract Management:

• Read, understand, and implement agreements and contracts.
• Ensure all contractual obligations are met and manage any issues that arise.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations management within the renewable energy industry.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of solar energy systems and industry regulations.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience in procurement, negotiations, and contract management.
• Ability to read and implement agreements and contracts.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
