Information Technology Help Desk Technician

Mercedes-Benz R&D Tel Aviv LTD is a technology hub working on CarIT security & innovation activities.

We're looking for a junior IT technician that will maintain the computer networks, providing technical support and ensuring the whole site runs smoothly.

IT Support monitors and maintains the site's computer systems, installs, and configures hardware and software, and solves technical issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Maintenance:

• Collaboration with Central IT: Work with central IT teams to maintain the local IT infrastructure.
• Server Room Maintenance: Assist with server room issues diagnosed by central IT.
• Networking Issues: Address local networking problems as they arise.
• Hardware Support: Regular maintenance and support for laptops and PCs.

Employee Tech Support:

• Technical Assistance: Provide standard technical support for hardware and software issues faced by employees.

New Employee Onboarding:

• Workstation Setup: Prepare workstations and onboard new employees to Daimler IAM systems.

Communication with Central IT:

• Meeting Participation: Attend scheduled meetings with central corporate IT, coordinated in advance.

Non-IT Infrastructure Support:

• Supplier Coordination: Oversee suppliers for the maintenance of alarm systems, telephony, video conferencing systems, and more.
• Support Tasks: Handle non-IT infrastructure support tasks as needed, excluding procurement and compliance.

Provisioning and Access Control:

• Software Orders: Order software, configure local admin rights, and manage shared folder permissions using the internal procurement and access management system.

Procurement:

• Vendor Interaction: Work directly with IT suppliers and service vendors to specify requirements and obtain price quotes.

Project Support:

• IT Projects: Provide support for specific IT-related projects within the defined contract hours.

Infrastructure Compliance:

• Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies and safety standards.
• Audit Assistance: Support internal and external auditing processes.

ISO Coordination:

• Information Security: Have basic knowledge of information security concepts, participate in training, and obtain internal certification.
• Global Team Collaboration: Be part of the global team, attend monthly meetings, and manage audit preparations.

Qualifications:

• Experience: At least 2 years in an IT Helpdesk or similar IT support position.
• Procurement: Experience working with providers and suppliers in procurement and support processes.
• Technical Skills: Excellent understanding of networking fundamentals and IT skills.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Technical Expertise: Proficient in installing, administering, and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, and networks.
• Communication: Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Languages: Proficiency in Hebrew and English; German is an advantage.
