Legal Counsel

Healthy.io is one of the first companies to successfully turn a smartphone into a clinical-grade medical device enabling faster treatment and improved care for patients worldwide. Our products are powered by computer vision and machine learning and create new clinical pathways through smartphone-powered urinalysis and digitized wound management.

We are looking for a commercial lawyer with experience in privacy laws and regulations to join our legal team as a Legal Counsel reporting to VP Legal.

As a member of Healthy.io’s legal team, you’ll support Healthy.io’s business in Israel, Europe, the UK and the US. The day-to-day work will include reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, product counseling, and advising on privacy, IP, and compliance matters. You will need to have a good general understanding of our production processes, technology, and regulatory framework. In addition to generalist skills, we expect you to have a deep understanding of the complexities of managing vendors, negotiating commercial agreements with customers, and privacy requirements.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of legal experience in a tech/corporate department in a leading law firm and/or as in-house legal counsel in an international setting.
• Bachelor of Laws degree and a qualified lawyer in Israel. A similar degree (such as a JD) from an academic institute in the US and/or US qualifications is a plus.
• Solid experience in reviewing, commenting, and providing advice on commercial agreements with customers and vendors (NDAs, service and supply agreements, T&Cs, etc).
• Profound knowledge and experience in GDPR, HIPAA, and other privacy laws.
• Strong organizational, project management, and execution skills.
• Ability to balance and prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks, and manage competing priorities effectively and independently.
• Ability to work effectively, both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and cross-functionally.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Hebrew. As most of the work and communication are conducted in English, a high level of professional English (speaking and writing) is a must.

Role & Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer contracts and vendor agreements
• Provide product counseling (i.e. on privacy, intellectual property and other compliance matters) to internal teams, ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation.
• Stay up-to-date with privacy requirements and regulations, providing guidance on implementation and compliance
• Identify potential legal issues and propose solutions to support business objectives.
• Become subject matter expert and the right-hand person for VP Legal and coordinate the legal work with the relevant departments in Israel and globally, such as information security, RA/QA, marketing, product, sales.
