Solutions Engineer Optical Transport (High Speed Ethernet and OTN) - Israel

Summary:

The Solution Engineer will be responsible for supporting and enabling sales on VIAVI Optical Transport portfolio in Israel driving the Israel Sales plan. The Solution Engineer will work closely with the Lab & Production Sales team and with selected Channel Partners and he will take responsibility of any technical demonstrations and presentations in front of customers or in joining selected partner/VIAVI events (technical seminars, webinars, roadshows and tradeshows). The individual will have to transfer product and related technology knowledge to the Customers, dedicated Sales team and to the Channel Partners. In conjunction with Sales, this person will be accountable for the bookings number of the related product portfolio in Israel.

The Solution Engineer is responsible for the introduction, implementation and follow-up of the Optical Transport portfolio in Israel and is expected to be proactive in case of deviation. The Solution Engineer is expected to drive issues to successful resolution within the wider “Global Solutions Engineer Team”, directly with Sales and with the Optical Transport Business Unit.

This role is based in home office in Israel with occasional travel abroad.

• Deliver pre- and post-sales support to our customers in Israel for our high-speed transport portfolio (Hands-on on product).
• Deliver product and technology presentations at targeted local roadshows/technical seminars/webinars.
• Quickly develop a deep knowledge of customers' technical challenges that inhibit their ability to achieve stated product / service delivery objectives.
• Demonstrating strength and experience in solution and value selling and the ability to build and demonstrate solid business cases that supports the value proposition.
• Developing customer advocates who sell and build consensus and the ability to influence key decision makers.
• Establish strategic working relationships with assigned clients and under each client’s technical and business needs.
• Effectively work with internal/external teams to anticipate and qualify customer needs.
• Provide technical demonstrations and presentations to customers.
• Work with VIAVI Support and Engineering teams to help solve customer issues.
• Identify customer requirements and communicate these requirements/feature requests to Product Marketing.
• Transfer basics of product and technologies knowledge to Customers &Channel Partners during specific and regular training sessions.
• Actively participate in the Global Solutions Engineer virtual meetings: feedback on deals, technical inputs, local market needs, challenges, successes, recovery plans, etc.
• Regular travel to customer locations in Israel. Occasional travel abroad is required as well.
  
  

• Telecom Science & Electronics Engineer diploma with +5 years Datacom and/or Telecom market expertise.
• Understanding of product/service development processes in the Communications and/or Test & Measurement industry.
• Self-motivated, working independently and willing to accept challenges.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in providing pre-sales and/or product support (solutions presentations, training, demos, Proof of Concepts) considered as advantage.
• Fluent English and Hebrew.
  
  

• Technology knowledge of IP and Ethernet technologies, Data Center Ethernet, 800/400/100/40/10GigEth. L4-L7 technologies.
• Technology knowledge of Optical Transport technologies: OTN, xWDM, and FlexE/FlexO.
• Routing protocol knowledge, both IPv4 and IPv6 including RIP, BGP, OSPF, ISIS. MPLS Protocol knowledge: RSVP-TE, LDP.
• Automation and manual testing of networking devices manufactured by Spirent, Ixia, Keysight, Cisco Systems, Nvidia, Nokia, Juniper Networks, Quali Systems etc.
• Strong Automation knowledge utilizing common languages such as C/C+, Java, Tcl, Perl and/or Python.
• Knowledge of VMWare ESXi, vSphere, and even Kubernetes desired.
• Network/Security certifications, including CCNA, CCIE, JNCIA and or CISSP are a plus.
