What are we looking for in a technical writer?

We seek an experienced Senior Technical Writer for a full-time hybrid role (2 days WFH) to develop and maintain technical documentation for our cybersecurity software products.

Must have a high level of technical understanding and proven experience documenting complex software deployment procedures (on-prem and cloud) as well as documenting configuration procedures, APIs, feature descriptions, Release Notes, etc in an easy-to-consume manner.

The ideal candidate is autonomous, proactive, organized, methodical, and possesses excellent project management skills. Additionally, they should be diligent, professional, personable, and have a “can-do” attitude.

What can you expect to be doing?

You will take on a significant role that utilizes your technical writing and project management skills to create, maintain, and enhance documentation through cross-functional collaboration. This includes:

• Creating and maintaining various documentation projects, including complex software deployment procedures, configuration and management guides, UI text reviews, API documentation, and release notes (major, minor, and hotfixes).
• Collaborating with Product Managers, R&D, technical account/support managers, customer success, and other SMEs to gather technical information, requirements, and specifications during all development phases and document relevant instructions/procedures for multiple projects.
• Participating in product demos, sprints, and review meetings.
• Monitoring and controlling documentation project statuses and managing the end-to-end review and approval process for all content development, ensuring completion within milestone timelines.
• Analyzing and reviewing existing content to identify opportunities for efficient reuse and collaborating with SMEs to improve the consistency and accuracy of all technical documentation.
• Identifying customer needs to facilitate reduced support cases through self-serve support provided via the documentation.

• Minimum of eight years of technical writing experience with complex software products
• Fluency in oral and written communication in English & a high level of Hebrew
• Experience using XML/HTML single-sourcing HAT/CCMS authoring tools well as proficiency in MS Word, and Adobe platforms
• Proven experience with creating technical documentation for complex software products and a strong understanding of the software release process
• Demonstrated ability in documenting SW deployment procedures for both on-premises and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) type environments.
• Self-directed with end-to-end project management capabilities, able to identify and prioritize deliverables and timelines independently. Proficient in managing all phases of the documentation development, review, and approval process up to finalization.
• Ability to work under pressure on multiple concurrent projects in an environment with evolving project requirements and priorities.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to consult with subject matter experts from engineering, support, and product management.
• Ability to efficiently and thoroughly address feedback on published content from both customers and internal support representatives
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of how to analyze source data (e.g., engineering specs and requirements) and retrieve the relevant information
• Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira)
