Linux System Administrator

Job Description:

Support and manage Linux/Unix-based systems, including clusters and infrastructure for DevOps, HPC, and software development. Responsibilities include system design, provisioning, operations, support, documentation, and transition to operations teams.

Responsibilities:

• Strategize with IT teams on the feasibility and design of Linux/Unix infrastructure.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams including engineering, IT, and vendors.
• Ensure the technical integrity, quality, and support of solutions.
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform standard administration tasks (OS installs, patch management, configuration, maintenance).
• Develop and manage scripts for automation and system administration tasks.
• Provide ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Unix systems.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Python, Ansible).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Proxmox).
• Network configuration and troubleshooting skills (DNS, IP networks, routing and switching, network security).
• Familiarity with system services management (systemd, SSH, FTP, LDAP).
• Experience with storage administration (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI).
• Knowledge of DevOps tools and processes (CI/CD, Jenkins, BitBucket).

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Linux/Unix system administration.
• Experience in large enterprise environments is an advantage.
• Ability to write and manage scripts for automation (Ansible, Python).
• Familiar with hardware used in ISP (routers, switches) and network detection systems.
• Experience with system and network security.
• Understanding of VPN, imaging technologies, and cloud technology.
