Bioanalytical Manager

Amai Proteins is the tasty Designer Protein company. Amai (means ‘sweet’ in Japanese) Pro-Protein platform combines: (a) Agile-Integrative Computational Protein Design (AI-CPD) to design proteins that are fit to the mass food market as to stability, taste, and other attributes; (b) precision fermentation production in an array of host organisms and (c) food technology to assess the Designer Proteins and integrate them to consumer-packaged goods.

In this framework, Amai assesses numerous proteins in an array of host organisms from small lab-scale to very large industrial scales.

As bioanalytical manager you will manage, give technical leadership and support the bioanalytical team. You will design, manage, validate, execute, and analyze results related to the analysis of samples from R&D and production processes. You will also work with many service providers and will be signing the product CoA. The position entails hands-on laboratory work.

Description:

• Stay abreast of technical advancements in the analytical area of proteins and new alternative food.
• Apply technical knowledge and expertise in protein analysis (chromatography, bioassays, chemical analysis, biochemistry, etc.)
• Collaborate with internal groups and departments as well as with external partners.
• Deliver technical support to ensure successful analytical methods development, validation and execution.
• Lead and support various elements of analytical process development.
• Analyze, interpret, present, and document technical information and release results to the different teams.
• Work with local and international service providers to analyze the samples and release of final product (CoA).
• Contribute to process regulatory strategies and submissions, and quality documentation.

Requirements:

• PhD in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or related field.
• A minimum of five years’ experience of relevant analytical development for proteins production.

Highly experienced with analytical methods of protein analysis, e.g. HPLC.

• Demonstrated capability to work independently on complex technical problems, effectively in cross-functional teams, and with external service providers and partners.
• Experience planning, generating, analyzing, and linking experimental capabilities and results to critical USP objectives.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Expertise in protein analysis by different methods.
• Knowledge of CMC biologics processes.
• Working knowledge in chemical, biochemical, bioassays and physical analysis of proteins.
• Experience in analytical process validation and SOP preparation.
• Ability to collaborate with and lead effectively cross-functionally in a team setting, both internally and with external service providers.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dynamic environment while delivering high quality work.
