Embedded Software Engineer

A startup company (considered a unicorn) specializing in the development of a Deep Learning chip focused on artificial intelligence applications in edge devices installed in various devices such as drones, smart home products, cameras, televisions, AR/VR products, wearables, different IoT devices, and more.

Located in Tel Aviv, near a train line, and working in a hybrid model—two days from home.

Role Description:

Reporting to a team leader, you will join an existing team in the SoC group in software, working on a diverse environment including Linux (both Kernel Space and User Space), Real-Time Firmware, and various aspects of Embedded Software. The group is working on the company's next component, and the new team member will have a significant impact as this involves new areas in the company, providing a great challenge and combining work with hardware.

Responsibilities:

• Managing the platform and its drivers (the entire BSP world, which is Board Support Package), including fast interfaces, the Boot Flow (including U-Boot), managing Power and Clocks, aspects of Safety & Security, etc.
• Development in multiple environments (Drivers and Userspace).
• Significant influence on system design.
• Image and video processing play a central role in the next generation product, offering an end-to-end solution for an intelligent image processor. The neural accelerators market is moving towards requiring strong image processing capabilities.
• Responsibility for all stages of design, development, implementation, including initial hardware setup and calibration

Requirements-

• 4 years of low-level development experience.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent military experience.
• Proficiency in developing custom Linux images and BSP for embedded systems with experience in Buildroot/Yocto/custom build systems.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Extensive knowledge of Linux internals and a solid understanding of security and cryptography (block ciphers, PKI, cryptographic hashes, MACs, code signing).
• Experience with embedded systems and low-level programming (RTOS/bare-metal), including SPI and I2C communications.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.
• Effective communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Creative thinking and the ability to tackle challenges with innovative solutions.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
