We are seeking an AI & Algo Lead to help spearhead our development and build a real-time soft-tissue navigation system to enable brain surgeons to overcome the limitations of traditional systems by utilizing state-of-the-art AI and classical image processing algorithms

As our first SW and Also engineer, you will take a principal part in the product development and technological vision of SurgiAI. 

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced deep learning models such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and other deep neural network (DNN) architectures for medical image analysis tasks such as detection, segmentation, classification, and more
• Apply classical computer vision and medical image processing techniques alongside deep learning approaches to build robust and accurate imaging pipelines
• Experiment with novel AI/ML techniques and adapt them for use with medical imaging data, including point cloud processing
• Work closely with the CTO to set the technical vision and strategy for AI-powered medical imaging solutions
• Optimize models for real-time performance, scalability, and clinical deployment on hardware/cloud infrastructure
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, deep learning, computer vision, and medical imaging through research papers and conferences

Qualifications

• Bs or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related technical field
• 5+ years of professional experience in applying machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision to medical imaging tasks
• Significant hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
• Strong programming skills in Python and C++, and proficiency with common scientific computing libraries
• Solid understanding of classical image processing and computer vision techniques
• Prior experience in medical imaging domains such as radiology, pathology, etc. is strongly preferred
• Experience with point cloud processing
• Background in developing and deploying production-ready software systems
• Proven track record through publications and prior startup experience
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• FEM simulation background is an advantage
