Purchasing and Operations Specialist

The Role: We're seeking a highly motivated Purchasing and Supply Chain Specialist to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials and daily Operations for our ongoing research and development. In this role, you'll leverage your negotiation and analytical skills to secure the best deals with vendors while optimizing our supply chain for maximum efficiency, with a strong focus on international logistics, import/export, and Israeli regulations.

Responsibilities:

Source, evaluate, and qualify new international and domestic suppliers for raw materials, equipment, and other essential supplies.

Support daily operations and the lab’s maintenance routine.

Document procedures and maintain detailed maintenance records.

Negotiate and finalize contracts with vendors, securing the company's most favorable terms and pricing, with a deep understanding of international trade agreements and incoterms.

Manage ongoing vendor relationships, fostering strong communication and collaboration with exciting suppliers.

Develop and implement a comprehensive purchasing strategy aligned with company goals, budget, and international logistics considerations.

Recognize cost-saving opportunities, and potential supply chain risks, and ensure compliance with Israeli import/export regulations.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, considering lead times and potential delays due to international shipping.

Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including R&D, Operations, Finance, and Customs authorities.

Stay abreast of industry trends and regulations impacting procurement in the biotech sector, with a particular focus on international logistics and Israeli import/export regulations.

Qualifications:

Minimum two years of experience in purchasing and/or supply chain management, preferably within the biotechnology or life sciences industry.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial engineering, or a related field (preferred).

Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts and securing cost savings in an international setting.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and utilize data to optimize purchasing decisions, considering international logistics costs and lead times.

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including potential delays and disruptions in international shipping.

Working knowledge of international logistics, import/export procedures, and Israeli regulatory requirements for the biotech industry.
