Field Services Engineer

flō is looking for a Field Engineer to join our core team.

flō is a tech startup based in Israel, developing a new digital printing technology for coatings of optical lenses. We are looking for a talented, self-motivated and highly technical Field Engineer (FE) to join our service team and help lead the journey in disrupting the Eyewear Manufacturing Industry.

As a Field Engineer (FE), you will work closely with the R&D & play a key role in establishing the company`s best practices around technology implementation, customer service & collecting customer application needs. You will have to master both technical aspects (HW) and applicational aspects (Process) to provide solutions & mitigations at the customer site.

This role will report to flō COO

The On Job training will include:

• Hands-on involvement in the assembly & integration process of our first prototype machines side by side with the R&D
• Setting the infrastructure and best practices of the service team, including the tools, methodology & processes.
• Documenting and preparing assembly instructions and manuals as basis for production files and user manuals

Following the onboarding, You will travel to the customers site, install, train, and support the customer on an ongoing basis. The position will relay to R&D all needed reports and undertake any service needed to resolve matters arising in the field.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Integrate into contract manufacturers processes and assist in unit assembly and integration.
• Manage an ongoing User Manual documentation from scratch to completion (validate understandings, index it, more)
• Provide remote and on-site support to customers to resolve technical problems.
• Perform on-site installation and training to customers.
• Handle & follow up escalated issues from customers until a solution is provided. Communicate escalations to the R&D.
• Prepare timely report to R&D.
• Participate in special projects and company initiatives as needed.

Skills & Responsibilities:

• Technical or engineering degree.
• Good technical understanding and experience of multidisciplinary equipment – mechanics, electronics and fluid systems combined with software.
• Ability to learn from others and capture knowledge that can then be replicated and documented.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment and multitask.
• Good reporting and trouble-shooting skills.
• Superior interdisciplinary communication and listening skills to interface with internal and external customers.
• Ability to effectively convey knowledge to others.
• Team player, but self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Able to deliver in stressful situations.
• Fluent English
• 50% - 70% Travel.
