Visual Layer is a rapidly growing startup focused on leveraging visual data analysis to unlock the full potential of your Visual Data. We are building a single access layer for all visual data that allows users to seamlessly explore, enrich, and manage vast amounts of unstructured images and videos with ease.

Based on the popular open-source project fastdup (400,000+ installations!). Visual Layer's solution leverages a proprietary graph engine that allows performing graph analytics & graph search on a very large scale data. Our innovative solutions empower businesses across various industries to harness the power of visual data.

What we are looking for

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior UX/UI Product Designer to join our dynamic and fun team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of user-centered design principles and a passion for creating intuitive and delightful experiences. 

As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you will collaborate with product managers, engineers, data experts, marketing managers, and other stakeholders to develop a top-tier user experience. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our product is intuitive, engaging, and aligned with user needs and business goals.

Your Impact & Responsibilities

• Lead the product UX/UI end-to-end - from concept to implementation.
• Work closely with product, development & quality teams to verify feasibility and ensure that designs are understood and implemented correctly.
• Become an expert of Visual Layer product and familiar with all aspects of the user experience
• Conduct user research and gather feedback to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points.
• Develop and maintain design systems to ensure consistency across the product and ultimately create a better user experience. 
• Create wireframes and user flows to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
• Conduct usability testing and iterate on designs based on user feedback and data with collaboration with the product team.
• Own UX/UI enhancements backlog
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve Visual Layer design processes.

Your Knowledge & Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a UX/UI designer
• Past experience working in B2B companies
• Proven experience as a UX/UI designer with a strong portfolio showcasing the design work
• Proven experience in designing simplified user experiences for complex workflows and for large scale data products
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe, or similar
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
• Excellent design skills with a keen eye for detail
• Experience with user research methods and usability testing
• Ability to communicate design concepts and ideas clearly and effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Experience working on visual data related systems (images and videos)
