Agriculture Manager

Casterra Ag, a leading global Israeli castor seed producer and cultivation company, is looking for an agriculture manager to oversee all agricultural aspects of the company’s activity.

The position requires both a strong farming background and managerial skills.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement growing protocols for the company’s varieties under different growth regimes.
• Lead product definition efforts in collaboration with R&D
• Develop and implement a full data gathering and analysis system from all commercial and test plots.
• Ensure a full flow of data from the field to R&D and vice versa.
• Prepare and implement a full plan for agro-technical trials in different geographies and under different growing systems.
• Negotiate and secure seed-growing contracts with potential growers.
• Periodic visits to castor growing sites to assess agro-technique practices.
• Oversee instructing, training, and providing ongoing Argo-technical support to the company’s growers, and clients.
• Maintain close relationships with the company’s clients, extending full support and addressing their needs and requirements.
• Prepare and present future work plans: annual, quarterly, and monthly.
• Prepare and present the annual budget for all agricultural activities.
• Compile clear and detailed periodical reports: weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
• Exploring new territories to assess suitability and agricultural needs for the successful growth of the company’s products and presenting Casterra’s products to new clients.
• Working with the sales and marketing team on data presentation.

Requirements:

• An Agronomist B.Sc. degree is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of proven experience as a grower or field agronomist.
• Proven managerial experience.
• Experience in seeds company – an advantage.
• Experience in R&D/plant breeding – an advantage.
• Fluent in English; additional languages would be an advantage.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Independent, mature, and self-secure.
• Strong leadership skills (proven).
• Willingness to travel often (up to 50% of the time)
• A proactive and results-oriented approach.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
