Machine Learning Engineer

A startup in the Insurtech field focuses on analyzing the true performance of drivers through driving monitoring and telematics—integrating information systems and real-time analysis of signals from multiple data sources. This analysis allows companies managing commercial vehicle fleets to fairly and transparently adjust premiums based on the quality of drivers' driving.

The company's system monitors signals that ensure safe driving, such as adherence to speed limits and avoidance of using cell phones while driving.

Located in Tel Aviv near a train station, the company operates a hybrid model with two days of remote work. It has about 117 employees globally, with around 13 in Israel.

Role description: The role involves being the sole ML engineering function in Israel (currently, there is another ML engineer in India) as part of the Risk Intelligence team under the Data Science Team Leader. The position includes working on ML in production, coding in Python with Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, SQL, Pyspark, AirFlow, AWS Sagemaker, MLFlow, and maintaining scalable model performance, leading end-to-end projects.

Requirements-

• Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or related field
• 3+ years' experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, writing and maintaining production-grade ML systems that are designed to be performant, scalable and resilient
• 5+ years of experience with coding including ML years
• Hands-on experience designing, training, and deploying machine-learning models and building ML workflows
• Proven experience in working with ML libraries, such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with data at scale using SQL, Pyspark, or similar frameworks
• Experience with cloud frameworks (like AWS sagemaker) and other MLOps tools for orchestration (like AirFLow) and experiment tracking (like MLFlow and weights & biases)
• High proficiency in statistics and machine learning algorithms, data manipulation and analysis
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
